What's The Name In That song?

Posted by Becka
As most of my readers know, I teach for Wee Hands baby/toddler/preschool sign language, helping kids from birth to 4 communicate effectively with those around them.

A little while ago, before the launch of our Play & Sign Class, I helped the owner of Wee hands, Sara Bingham, test one of the weeks of the class. The perks for this was to receive a CD with my youngest's names in the songs (Wyatt happened to be that youngest at the time!).

Now, I have heard many CD's and tapes that have children's names in them, and most were spotty, and you could almost bet someone almost used a microphone to say the name of the child. So when I put the CD in, made by Name Your Tune, I was skeptical about using them for the classes (in an actual class, we order one CD for each child). But after listening to the songs, and the quality of them, I was hooked...and so was Wyatt!

And they are not at all expensive...here is an excerpt from their site...

"Name Your Tune personalized kids' CDs are $20.00 each, or $18.00 each when you purchase two or more at the same time. This CD from Name Your Tune is a fresh and exciting children's music compilation that is made to order and features your child's name more than 80 times throughout the 14-song CD. The songs include children's tunes that we all know and love.We can incorporate multiple names on a Name Your Tune CD...with pleasure. There is no extra cost to have more than one name included throughout our songs. To do this, we alternate songs between the names. When you place your order, simply put the names in the space indicated. "

The songs are crisp and clear, and it does not sound like the name was superimposed into the song. You would have thought these songs were SUPPOSED to say Wyatt!!! And every time I put the CD in, Wyatt jumps for joy a the mention of his name!

These are all songs that your child will sing in school, playdates, at home, and in the car. What a great touch to have their name in it as well!

The songs on the CD are:

Hello, How Are You?
If You're Happy And You Know It
Old MacDonald
Oh How I Want to Go
Wheels on the Bus
Boom Boom, Ain't It Great To Be YOU!
Down By The Park
The More We Get Together
Head and Shoulders
There are Seven Days
Rainbow Song
ABC Medley
I Don't Want To Live On The Moon
Instrumental Lullaby

Each one uses your child's name in the song where other words usually are (i.e. "if you're Wyatt and you know it, clap your hands"). Wyatt LOVES his CD (I made a copy of Wyatt's, as to preserve the original for class), and his older brother and sister (10 and 7), love to sing them to him.

And if you don't think they can put your child's name on the CD, think again!! They have an extensive list of  4200 NAMES!

"Now with more than 4200 names available to have your NYT CD customized for your child!

A Note About Spelling:

Spell it your way! The name on the label on the CD will appear the way that you want it.

A Note About Pronunciation:
