Mat Franco, Reinventing Magic Nightly

Posted by Becka 0 comments

On Friday, August 14th, I had the pleasure of seeing the 2014 winner of America's Got Talent, magician Mat Franco.

Mat is an amazing magician, who uses basic magic to wow his audience. No smoke and mirrors, no illusions. Just good, old fashioned MAGIC.

Franco is a self taught magician from Johnston, Rhode Island, who has had a love of magic sine he was only 4 years old. Fully supported by his family, including his older brothers, Mat's love of magic grew over the next 22 years. Auditioning for America's Got Talent was the highlight of his career, and winning was the highlight of his life. Now, he is playing in Vegas, reinventing magic nightly, for audiences of all ages.

Mat is interactive, always moving and involves the audience is almost every trick. For this particular show, the first audience member was a friend and CFO of C20 Bloggers, in our group. I wont give too much away, but she certainly had an amazing experience. The entire night Franco kept the entire audience glued to his every move.

After the show, I got to meet and talk to the man himself. He was just as amazing in person as he was on stage. I will hopefully be able to see this again, before we depart from Vegas.

But, just like a great magician never tells his secrets, a good blogger never gives away too much :) You will have to see for yourself.

If you want to see this amazing magician for yourself, check out his show at The Linq! You will NOT be disappointed.

Jersey Boys In Vegas

Picture it...Jersey....a thousand years ago...Eisenhower, Rocky Marciano...and 4 guys under a streetlamp singing somebody else's latest hit...

I recently had the opportunity to attend a showing of Jersey Boys at the Paris Casino. This was my third time seeing the show, second time here in Las Vegas. As usual, the show was simply amazing. Of course I laughed, cried and cheered throughout the show.

For those that have never seen this performance, or the movie of the same name, Jersey Boys goes through the backstory of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. From pre Frankie to what happens when a band falls apart.

This is a wonderful depiction of the groups rise to success, leading to their entry into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame.

It starts with Tommy DeVito telling the audience about the first band members then proceeds to how he intoriduced Frankie Catellicuio (later Valli). The story is told by all 4 members of the group as they go through different group names, each members triumphs and tragedies. We see Tommy as he makes bad decisions that ultimately ended the group, Frankie's major loss and his side deal with Bob Gaudio, Nick Massey's finally having enough of the blunders of Tommy and everything in between.

The music was amazing and the cast sounds very authentic to the real thing. The acting was phenomenal and everyone made the audience feel like they were really a part of the show.

This is one show that I would consider going to again and again.
