Call to freedom...I mean call for a possible job!

Posted by Becka
There is a new day care opening almost within walking distance of my house in late February. I sent in my resume, and they want me to come in and talk to them about a lead teacher position...

Now this is nice and all...but.................

I have to have it worth my while. I would LOVE to go back to work. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Boredom has set in big time!

Now the thing is, I have 2 older kids in school...one that gets home about 2:15 (who can easily stay home for a couple hours alone with no problem) and one that gets home at 3:15 (who is only 8, has Aspergers, and would not fare well with being babysat by her brother! (ok one might not make it, they would certainly kill each other!), and 2 younger kids...one that will, hopefully, be in free preschool (our public school has it, SO nice!) in September, and a 19 month old.

I do not yet know what they will offer for salary or tuition discounts. My last day care job, which I quit in 2003 before having my daughter, I got about $10/hour. I was only paying $100/week for child care, since my son went there and I got 1/2 off.

They don't say anything about after school care, tuition, etc... on their site, and, apparently, don't like to call back. So how much will I make and how much will I be shelling out for tuition?!

So we will see what happens when I go to their career fair event they are having next weekend!

Wish me luck :)

Stay at home, business owning mom of 4 young kids, Nick the Sportsman, Michele the Princess, Wyatt the Wild One, and Evan the Baby.Bachelor in Early Childhood Development and Education, with 20 years experience. I could not ask for anything more!
